Drug and alcohol abuse is not an easy addiction to surpass.  There are hundreds of thousands of drug and alcohol programs and treatment centers dedicated to the rehabilitation of substance abusers all over the United States.  North Dakota, like many other states around the nation, is home to dozens of treatment facilities that many people travel to even if they are not from that state.  North Dakota provides a clean environment to those trying to recover from such addictions.  One problem for this addiction is the close border proximity between the United States and Canada where prescription pills are sent over the border illegally and remain within North Dakotas state limitations.
